Take 3
Trevor Sorbie’s artistic director picks three glamorous looks for long hair this winter.
Words: Johanna Cree-Brown

Luxe waves

On wet hair, make a middle parting, then prep with either smoothing balm if your hair is thick or frizzy or mousse if your hair is fine. Blast dry. Split your hair into four sections and then take a horizontal section halfway down the back of your head. Take vertical sections the same width as the barrel of the tong, twist the hair slightly, then wrap and apply Trevor Sorbie Beautiful Curls Curl Constructor. Starting at the root/scalp, wrap around the barrel. Hold for 15-25 seconds, then clip curl against the head. Next start at the sides; tong in the same way but not to the root. Repeat at the back. Take out clips and brush.

Hair Twist

Take a low diagonal side parting on the left side, leaving out a few optional strands around the hairline. Now section ear-to-ear, then take the left side and all of the back and brush in to a low ponytail at the right side of the nape, then secure with a bungee. Split this section into two using a small amount of Trevor Sorbie Miracle Smoother to add moisture, then twist and wrap around in a bun shape. Take the front right section using a wide tooth comb and a little hairspray for definition, and drape the hair over from the parting, then twist the ends around the bun shape and secure with grips.

Pure Volume

Prep hair with Trevor Sorbie mousse, blow dry with a large round bristle brush, then, when dry, wrap each section around self-grip rollers. Once the whole head is set and cooled, take out the rollers and using a cushion, brush hair back off the face and up slightly at the sides. Next backcomb the roots slightly from the top of the head; less as you get to hairline, and the same at the sides, and spray with hairspray. Next get a very small round brush, hairspray the sides of your hair, then push the round brush in to the hair line, then remove and follow with your hairdryer and nozzle to set.
